  16. The Microsoft Windows distribution of Version 9.3.1 of the Icon Programming
  17. Language is available from ftp://ringer.cs.utsa.edu/pub/icon/nt/binaries/

  19. This release corresponds to the forthcoming graphics book, described at
  20. www.cs.arizona.edu/icon/.  Windows Icon programmers will all want this
  21. release because of:
  22.  
  23. * standard Windows installation (and uninstallation) via a setup.exe file
  24. * creation of a program group and program items for launching Windows Icon
  25. * bundling of console-mode (non-graphics) binaries for NT and Win95
  26. * improved functionality of the integrated development environment, Wi
  27. * comprehensive on-line documentation in keyword-searchable Windows Help
  28.   format, including the Icon Program Library and VIB interface builder
  29. * vastly improved support for Windows 3.1/Win32s users
  30. * performance improvements in tasks such as reading image files
  31. * bug fixes

  33. Windows Icon will continue to evolve, but this is a major milestone and I
  34. would greatly appreciate positive or negative feedback, suggestions, and bug
  35. reports if you use this software.
